As a school we recognise that speaking and listening is essential to education. We are committed to delivering high quality teaching and learning in oracy across the curriculum. Each week, teachers plan for a minimum of one high quality oracy lesson that incorporates one or more of the strands of oracy; physical, linguistic, cognitive and social and emotional. The oracy lesson is usually based on the class novel or writing opportunity.
We promote oracy across the curriculum, ensuring there are opportunities to develop speech and debate in all our lessons.
